Stefano Marcato
Born in Murano in 1953, Stefano Marcato studied and graduated in Architecture in 1978 from the University of Venice, specializing in architectural restoration. From the outset, his professional activity diversified between the conservative restoration of Venice's urban fabric for buildings of historical value, with particular care for the preservation of heritage, and creative glass design in collaboration with the Effetre group's glassworks, where he worked alongside master glassmakers of internationally recognized value, gaining increasing awareness and experience in the field. Concurrently, starting in 1980, in the lighting sector, he began his relationship with Paf, which later became Italiana Luce and is now Nemo. For several years, he has collaborated with the NasonMoretti glassworks in Murano, for which he designs collections of glasses, objects, and decorative lamps for the home, combining traditional glassmaking techniques with the evolution and image of current taste.
